Just beneath Bellapais Abbey, this lovely resort amid lush gardens is a tranquil hideaway well worth the splurge. Rooms ooze casual luxury with fresh, modern decor in classic neutral tones. The split-level cottages, with expansive sea views from the balcony, are particularly inviting. Sip your drink poolside, while admiring the abbey’s architecture above, and you may decide to never leave.

This is a wonderfully peaceful place to come for dinner as well, particularly in summer when you dine on a terrace beside the pool. On our last visit the proprietors were busy restoring an old building opposite the hotel entrance, to become a new wine bar.
