The drive up to the old Landhuis Jan Kok is lined with colorful sculptures, whimsical animal paintings and unexpected rock cairns. This is your introduction to the joyful world of Nena Sanchez, a born-and-bred Curaçaoan who made primitive-style island art for nearly two decades until she passed away in 2017.
Her niece now owns the gallery and continues her legacy. In case you can't get out here, she also has a smaller shop in Punda.
The turnoff to the landhuis is near Sint Willibrordus, across from the flamingo lookout.
