Croatia's largest and most colourful flea market, a huge space packed with everything from car parts and antique furniture to clothes, records and kitchenware. All goods are secondhand, of course, and bargaining is the norm.
It’s a great experience in itself and is a side of Zagreb you probably won’t see anywhere else – expect lots of Roma people, music, general liveliness and grilled meat smoking in the food section. If you’re going in the summer months, bring a hat and wear sunscreen, as there’s no shade.
Take bus 295 (15KN, 20 minutes, Sunday only) to Sajam Jakuševac from behind the railway station. By tram, take number 6 in the direction of Sopot, get off near the bridge and walk 15 minutes along the Sava to get to Hrelić; or take tram 14, get off at the last stop (Zapruđe) and begin the 15-minute walk from there.
