Klet Kozjak in Sveti Križ Začretje, 11km southeast of Krapina, is an adorable little cottage that serves traditional food from the region – such as homemade nettle pasta with cheese and vegetable sauce – and pairs it with sweeping views of the hills and valleys from the terrace.

Run by a local family that has been in the goat-breeding business for generations, it is known for its excellent goat cheese and oven-baked kid goat. If you also want to stay, there are a few rooms (singles/doubles 315/475KN) here.
