Playa Tamarindo
It's hard to resist this fun, funky yellow house backing up to the beach. Upon arrival, ebullient Cindy will greet you with a shot of tequila or a slab of homemade banana bread. Rooms aren't that fancy but they do feature tiled floors, handmade furniture and whimsical paint jobs. The whole place is laid-back and lovely. NB: must love dogs.
Updated decor includes mermaid- and octopus-themed murals.
