By far the best budget-to-mid-range option in Quepos, this large, rambling building just out of town offers various configurations of bright simple rooms. Best for groups is the 3rd-story open-air 'Birds Nest', complete with secret toilet (see if you can find it).
The place is run by Steve, a transplant with tons of local knowledge, who can help arrange tours. There are large hangout spaces with hammocks, and a vibe of friendly camaraderie prevails. Several rooms are geared, furniture-wise, toward families with kids, and there's a child-friendly pool.
