La Canoa

Santa Marta

A fusion spot with French pretensions that doesn’t come across as at all pretentious, La Canoa is a Franco-Colombian marriage made in heaven that’s ideal if you’re craving cool air (strong air-con), a jolting caffeine hit (strong coffee) and a quick connection to the worldwide web (strong wi-fi).

Imagine a kind of French-bakery-meets-bistro equipped with a menu that reads like a Gallic goody bag of moules frîtes, grilled salmon and quiche Lorraine – that’s if you can get past the pain au chocolat. The space is split between a chilled (in both atmosphere and temperature) cafe space decorated with ever-changing art and a patio where you can lie back and listen to the quiet hiss of the coffee machine. Regular cultural events are laid on.
