A superb hotel that could almost be recommended as a city highlight, the Farol hides a wealth of little luxuries behind its plain red facade. The large, funky-modern rooms are named and decorated after various cities (the Beijing and NYC rooms stand out), and the polite, courteous staff members are as helpful as tour guides.
Raising the bar further are the glorious common areas, which include an intimate patio (with pond), an inviting lobby (with books), and a lovely roof terrace with curvaceous loungers, creative marine murals and a cute little dip pool.
The owner, from Barcelona, also runs Casa del Árbol and Casa del Piano, two similarly priced and stylish converted mansions in the city center.
