Zhuangyuan Mansion

Sichuan

Named for two Tang-dynasty brothers who scored first on the imperial examinations, their former residence has been converted to a high-end hotel with modern rooms but lots of old-fashioned character. Rooms are arranged around a quiet central courtyard and it has a plumb old town location.
