From a corner of Rotunda de Carlos Da Maia with the lamps that gave the area its name, a double row of stalls line Rua de Fernão Mendes Pinto. You'll see braised pork knuckles, Burmese noodles, Indonesian desserts and other nibbles you can buy and eat on the go, alongside mounds of fresh fruit and cheap clothing.
The vendors keep different hours, but most cooked food stalls open around 10am and close at 8pm. A Watson's drug store currently stands at the corner where the line of stalls begins.
