One of Longji's most social hangouts is this friendly backpacker in the hilltop village of Tiantouzhai. It's a scenic spot, with each of the rooms in the sprawling, creaky wooden inn featuring fabulous rice-terrace views. Dorms are four- and five-bed rooms, while spartan private rooms have either sit-down or squat toilets. It's a 40-minute climb from Dazhai.
Staff are friendly and offer on point travel info. The restaurant does tasty local and western food, as does its nearby La Vie Bar with outdoor terrace, pool table and happy-hour cocktails.
If hiking here from Dazhai, it's the first lodge you'll encounter at the start of the village.
