Let's Go Guìzhōu

Suzhou

With stunning views across the Grand Canal to Sūzhōu's old city walls, this restaurant serves no-frills Guìzhōu-style food that features liberal use of sour-spicy chillies.

The house special is a steaming suāntāng yú or sour fish soup (酸汤鱼; ¥48), made with tomatoes, pickled chilli and cabbage, and served on a burner so its tangy flavour develops at the table. There's no English menu but the friendly owners can help you order.
