The 550-room Ibis is clean, modern and well located, which goes a long way towards making up for the lack of character. Rooms are simply furnished in light wood, with contemporary bathrooms; it's worth the HK$250 supplement for a harbour view. One downside is the lift, which can take forever because the building is busy and you must switch at the fifth-floor reception.
