Since the mid-19th century there has been a Chinese diaspora in Peru, cooking home cuisine using Peruvian ingredients. This interpretation of Chinese food is what you'll find at retro-styled Chifa. Dumplings like the violet xiao long bao (soup dumplings) with beetroot sauce are supposed to be the main event, but there's a lot more to the menu – all tasty and beautifully presented.
There's a good lunch deal for two to three courses (HK$128 or HK$168), but many of the most interesting dishes are only available in the evening. Book ahead.
