Renaissance Hotel Guiyang

Guiyang

Set among the wide, empty streets of the city's new political and financial centre (Jinyang, 15km north), the Renaissance is an absolute bargain for those seeking affordable opulence. Rooms are large and perfumed, with marble and plush carpet underfoot. There's a decent cocktail bar on the top floor with good views of the surrounding neighbourhood.

The nearby parkland is tops for a morning jog; the area also has a Walmart and even a few local restaurants. The hotel is far from the action of downtown Guiyang but accessible by metro, and handy for early starts out of Guiyang North Train Station. Staff speak English.
