One of Guilin's most popular hostels, This Old Place has a wonderful location down a leafy street across from Baoxian Lake, and is a 10-minute walk to the main eating and shopping areas. Private rooms are spacious and comfortable, while four-bed dorms come equipped with powerpoints and curtains. It's a good spot to chill out, particularly its rooftop terrace with amazing karst-peak views.
Staff are friendly and helpful on all matters. A taxi here from the train station costs about ¥15, and around ¥40 from the South Bus Station. Mountain-bike rental is ¥40 per day.
