Mr Wang and the folk from Dali in Yunnan at this family-run restaurant are a bundle of fun. Sample the five or six flavours of strong homemade qīngkē báijiǔ (Chinese barley spirit) and you might be too. Popular with travellers for the guòqiáo mǐxiàn (Yunnanese hotpot) and colossal servings of classics such as shuǐzhǔ niúròu (boiled yak meat in spicy broth; ¥45).
Its interior is decorated with post-it-note dedications from customers, and the restaurant also has outside seating. Located on the road to Kerti Gompa just up from the turn. Open late in summer.
