NishDish

Toronto

Traditional Anishnawbe (Nish) dishes are served at this tiny eatery – more a quick-service counter than a cafe – with two long communal tables. The menu changes weekly, but expect game, beans, and regional fruits and veggies: hominy-corn soup, boar omelette, elk chili, wild-rice blueberry pudding and, of course, fry bread. Service is friendly: if in doubt, just ask.
