Théâtre Périscope

Québec City

This understated performing-arts center offers community theater in interesting quarters: a former synagogue built in 1950. The Hebrew letters on the front facade identify it as Beth Israel Ohev Sholom. The Jewish population of Québec City dipped substantially after WWII; the synagogue was transformed into a theater in 1985.
