Wrought-iron beds and Louis Philippe furnishings lend a suitably Napoleonic touch to this historic 30-room inn, a former judge’s residence built in 1886. The best rooms are warmly decorated and boast high ceilings, dormer windows and bronze lamps. Low-end rooms can seem a little dark and dowdy; some guests are disappointed with the lack of in-room coffeemakers.
Those at the rear overlook a pretty garden with views of the Basilique Notre-Dame. Breakfast is served in the fine Bonaparte Restaurant, which has been done up in Napoleonic Imperial style. There’s also a pleasant rooftop terrace.
