This grand old Goth-Renaissance dame has been resting on her laurels since her 1920s heyday. Some rooms have been renovated since Sir Winston Churchill stayed here, while others are in need of some TLC. The staff are friendly and helpful, public spaces are grand, but wi-fi is patchy and the hotel attracts a colorful clientele. Great location.
