Driftwood Lodge

Cape Breton Island

It's hard to find wallet-friendly accommodations along the Cabot Trail, but this rustic beside-the-beach inn definitely fits the bill; it's been going since 1973, and is still run by the same family. The main building has pine-paneled rooms and apartments, and there's an old housekeeper's cottage in the grounds: a little dated, maybe, but quite comfortable.
