BC Lions

Vancouver

Founded in 1954, the Lions are Vancouver's team in the Canadian Football League (CFL), which is arguably more exciting than its US counterpart, the NFL. The team has had some decent showings lately, but hasn't won the all-important Grey Cup since 2011. Tickets are easy to come by – unless the boys are laying into their arch enemies, the Calgary Stampeders.

Catching a game at the stadium includes plenty of schmaltzy razzmatazz, from cheerleaders to half-time shows. It's family friendly and a lot cheaper than catching an NHL hockey game.
