Republica Coffee Roasters

Vancouver

The first downtown Vancouver location for this long-time Fort Langley java roaster is a brick-lined little nook with friendly counter staff and none of the hipster edge of some local coffee shops. Snag a window perch and watch the Pender St action unfold as you sup a well-prepared fair-trade beverage and perhaps nibble on a chunky cookie or two.

They're serious about their coffee here so don't be surprised if you suddenly feel like picking up a bag to go, including some sought-after single-estate options. There's also a small but well-curated array of bagged tea to take home. The best souvenir, though, is one of the sleek, black metal coffee canisters; it'll remind you of your Vancouver visit for years to come.
