Cardero's Marine Pub

Vancouver

Nestled between Coal Harbour's bobbing boats, the restaurant here is fine but the little pub on the side is better. With cozy leather sofas, a wood-burning fireplace and great views of the marina, it has a decent menu of comfort food (we recommend the wok dishes and the fried oysters) plus good draft beers, including local favorite Stanley Park Brewing.

There's live music, typically of the guitar-wielding singer-songwriter variety, every night. And the weekday happy hour (3pm to 6pm) includes $5 beer and wine specials plus a tempting array of food deals from tuna sliders to chicken karaage.
