Despite being a 1960s tower, the well-maintained Blue Horizon still feels modern. Fairly spacious suites have the kind of quality, business-hotel furnishings common in pricier joints and all have corner balconies. Those on the higher floors look across to English Bay or the mountain-framed North Shore. The on-site restaurant focuses on comfort food (laksa recommended) and has a street-side patio.
The hotel is right on the city's main shopping strip, so you won't have far to transport your purchases. In addition, Stanley Park is a 15-minute walk away. Parking is $18.95 per day.
