Preah Vihear Boutique Hotel

Northwestern Cambodia

A slick boutique hotel in the unlikely setting of Sra Em, the PVBH is looking to coax higher-end templegoers from Siem Reap to stay a night. With lush bedding and a shimmering 20m outdoor pool to cool off in, it has a pretty good case. It's about 1km out of town on the road to Prasat Preah Vihear.

The simple but air-conditioned US$35 rooms off the parking lot are ostensibly for drivers and tour guides, but work just fine for flashpackers who don't want to pay full whack for their boutique experience. The excellent Apsara Restaurant includes a pool table at which to while away an evening.
