Sitio do Alemão

Ceará

This secluded German-run spot a couple of kilometers down a spur road near the park entrance has wonderful panoramas and a collection of small A-frame chalets surrounded by forest. The rooms are neat and well maintained but the smaller models with shared bathrooms are tight for space. A good choice if you value tranquility and have your own transport.

The grounds are frequently visited by a troop of capuchin monkeys. You'll take your breakfast in a pavilion surrounded by trees. The host is a mine of information on the area and organizes walks beginning on the property and further afield to the beautiful Cachoeira do Frade – a series of waterfalls in a canyon 30km away.
