Pousada Colonial

São Luís

A certain colonial charm pervades this refurbished old-town mansion, which features an interior patio and unusual raised azulejos (decorative ceramic tiles) inside and out. The rooms don’t quite live up to the ambience; some have no natural light, but they do offer new mattresses with crisp sheets, split-system air-con and, in a few cases, views over the old-town rooftops.
