This pioneering ranch offers great comfort and luxury in a peaceful setting. Rooms have lovely artisanal bedspreads and patios with hammocks. There is a treetop tower for bird-watching (hyacinth macaws) and super welcoming owners André and Akhila make an immense effort to be sustainable (water recycling, solar panels and much more). The food is really good, with vegetarian choices and home-grown produce.
You can also book a Jaguar Express day tour (US$550) that whisks you down to Porto Jofre in the morning and heads out feline-spotting before returning here in the evening. There's a minimum stay of three nights and a conservation fee of R$130 per person per stay.
