Pedro's Hotel

Ambergris Caye

One of the cheapest budget options on the island, Pedro's is a longtime San Pedro party-hotel favorite. The original 'hostel' has tiny cell-like rooms with thin walls and shared bathrooms. The best accommodations are near the pool in the deluxe annex, which has 12 rooms featuring flat-screen TVs with 110-plus channels, air-con and en-suite bathrooms with hot showers.

Rooms in the slightly older hotel are darker and less appealing, but still have air-con and hot water. The location on a back street south of town is not the most convenient, but you can lounge in hammocks, swim in the above-ground pool or eat pizza at the on-site sports bar, and sleep easy knowing you are saving your money for drinking and diving (and other important things).
