After a recent overhaul, old favorite Captain Morgan's is once again competitive with some of the newer luxury resorts on the island. Among the many room types, the thatched cabins with private porches overlooking the sea are the most atmospheric. There are also three swimming pools, each with their corresponding bar spread along the waterfront.

The on-site casino features slot machines, blackjack and roulette (poker is planned for 2019). The resort was the filming location for the first season of reality TV show Temptation Island; whether that inspires you or scares you off will depend on what you're looking for in Belize.
