Ian Anderson's Caves Branch Jungle Lodge

Top choice in Hummingbird Highway

Hidden away in dense jungle off the Hummingbird Hwy, Ian Anderson's is a 90-sq-mile private estate that acts as a base for a variety of exclusive jungle activities on the property. Accommodations are superb jungle-chic, and guests can indulge themselves in the beautiful riverside pool and hot tub, and enjoy meals and cocktails at the family-style restaurant overlooking the river.

Most exclusive of the accommodations are the canopy tree houses overlooking the Caves Branch River, featuring beautifully carved four-poster beds, screened-in decks, outdoor tropical showers and views to die for. More humble but no less lovely are the wooden cabañas closer to the river, and there's a varying range of lodge rooms in between. The lodge also has an onsite artisanal cheese factory and organic soap-making facilities.

Most guests to the lodge book multi-day packages, including tours, accommodations, meals and more. Check the website for current deals.
