This little family-run guesthouse is a solid budget choice, although the razor wire surrounding the place makes it look like the owners are planning to withstand more than just the usual crime of Belize City – a zombie apocalypse, perhaps? The nine rooms are clean and comfortable for the price; and the Kalam family offers low-key but accommodating service.
The location in Fort George is safe, convenient and quiet – an easy walk from the water taxi or from the facilities at Tourist Village. The place lacks the hangout atmosphere of more popular backpacker places, but for functionality and value it's unbeatable.
