D'Nest Inn

Belize City

Your hosts Gaby and Oty have evidently put a lot of care into this retreat on the northern edge of town. The individually decorated rooms have four-poster beds, handmade quilts and plenty of Victorian-era antiques. Even more enticing, a lush garden beckons with blooming orchids and allamandas, singing birds and quiet corners.

If you're extra lucky, you may even spot a manatee in the adjoining canal. It's easy enough to travel the 3 miles into town by taxi or by bus, but in all honesty, you probably won't want to leave this tropical paradise.
