Ganja Homestay

Azerbaijan

The great advantage of this very genuine homestay is the real family setting, a yard beneath grapevines or orchard garden and, weekends only, the company of thoughtful, ever-obliging host Afgan Mehtikhanov. Afgan speaks excellent English and can help you get a really personal insight into this underestimated city.

The homestay is a short hop on bus 4 or marshrutka 14 or 25 from the central area. Get off at the shell of a big Armenian church then walk a three-minute dogleg west-north-west. The street's old name, Qacaq Nabi küç, still appears on most maps.

Be aware that the homestay has no signs other than a few love hearts on the pale-blue door.
