Magdas

Top choice in Prater & East of the Danube

How clever: the Magdas is a hotel making a difference, as the staff who welcome guests are refugees. The former retirement home turned modestly priced boutique hotel is sustainable on all levels. The rooms are retro cool, with one-of-a-kind donated artworks, knitted lampshades courtesy of nimble-fingered volunteers, and upcycling. The pick have balconies overlooking the Prater, just around the corner.

There is a library, bike rental, a cafe where you can grab a bite to eat (the lunch special goes for €6.80) and hotel beehives producing tasty honey.
