Putzenalm

Tyrol

A beautiful 8km uphill hike from St Anton, this mountain hut sits in a tranquil alpine meadow, where you can often spot marmots if you look carefully. It does a great Brettljause (tasting platter), featuring the cheese from its 50 cows, which you can, incidentally, see coming down from the pastures around 5pm, their clanging bells resonating through the valley.
