Centrally located and near a slew of cheap Asian food joints, Kangaroo Inn occupies an unappealing-looking former YMCA. Private rooms and dorms are basic but clean, there's good security, and a great rooftop chill-out area if you feel like a little meet-and-greet. Like many Perth hostels, though, it's popular with long-term guests working in the city.
