An attractive country pub, the lovely red-brick double-story terrace hotel (built around 1924 by the Ballarat Brewing Co.) has grapevines dangling from its lattice verandah. Inside is equally charming, with a character-filled front bar, and a refined wine bar with chaise longues, chesterfield couches and art on the walls.
The pub food (mains $18 to $39) is a step up from the usual, as are its rooms; however, the place was up for sale at research time, so it's unknown in what direction it'll go.
