Wrest Point Casino

Hobart

This 17-storey octagonal tower on the Sandy Bay waterfront opened in 1973 as Australia's first casino, and has been the subject of many a postcard from Hobart ever since. Gambling is still the mainstay, but concert venues (and outdoor lawns) host big touring rock, comedy and theatre shows.
