Aløft

Top choice in Hobart

Boldly claiming itself as Hobart's top restaurant, angular Aløft occupies a lofty eyrie atop the floating Brooke St Pier. Menu hits include silken tofu with burnt onion and baby leeks, and crispy duck leg with kimchi. If you can drag your gaze away from the view, service and presentation are both excellent, in an unpretentious Hobart kinda way.

The banquets are great value (including vegan and vegetarian options).
