It's less of a nook and more of a reconfigured old pub, but the Nook is doing things right. Fourteen tidy rooms extend above a sociable, sun-lit living space, with a large BBQ deck area out the back. There are free bus tours to kunanyi/Mt Wellington and MONA twice a week, and a couple of bikes for hire (half/full day $8/14).
An ongoing refurbishment at the time of our visit was promising even better things.
