Furneaux Tavern

The East Coast

Excellent pub bistro food, striving for minimal intervention between paddock and plate. The menu features the likes of wallaby pies, plus an unsurprising and entirely pleasing seafood bent. Island wines too. Short kitchen hours, so don’t be late.

The tavern also offers an array of nicely updated motel-style cabins (double/family $150/165), set amid native gardens and with wrap-around decks looking out over Franklin Sound. The restaurant is a major bonus given the lack of other eating options at this end of the island.
