Alibi.

Completely vegan and proud, LA celebrity chef Matthew Kenney has brought his plant-based-cuisine/raw-food concept to Sydney. It’s atmospherically sited in the huge and historic Cowper Wharf on Sydney Harbour, part of plush boutique hotel Ovolo. Go for the nine-course tasting menu ($65) to try all the famed favourites, such as kimchi dumplings with red cabbage and ginger foam.

Alibi has got the vibe right, breaking up the cavernous space with intimate nooks, fairy-lit trees and the odd retro Space Invaders game. The airy architecture is great for acoustics, but terrible for draughts. Bring your (non-wool) cardie.
