In a substantial Victorian house in the centre of Glebe, the Alishan is clean and quiet, with the feel of an old boarding house. Spacious communal areas include a modern kitchen and a garden with a barbecue. Simple rooms have TVs and fridges, although some of the cheapies share bathrooms. Dorm rates ($48) are sometimes available.
