A fully formed 18th-century English pub, complete with overstuffed armchairs, roaring fireplace and portraits of blue blooded noblemen. The chatty bar staff know a ridiculous amount about whisky and gin, and pull a perfect pint too. Definitely come for the Sunday roast, a heaped plate of full-English cholesterol for which you are advised to book ahead.
The Duke shares its grotty alley entrance with gin-specialists the Barber Shop and whisky-den Baxter Inn. Make a night of it.
