Currant Shed

Fleurieu Peninsula

In a former currant-drying shed built in 1916, this relaxed bistro sources as many ingredients as possible from its own gardens (fennel, peas, asparagus, cumquats, apricots, olives, limes). It's a charming setting, with super-informed staff and a wine list about 10 times as long as the menu (some interesting European bottles make the grade, for some virtual travel beyond the Vale).
