The only lodgings on Daydream Island are white and airy, with a vertical garden in the striking main atrium and facilities galore. The Daydream team know their clientele – families with kids, international travellers and time-poor holidaymakers – and understand how to capitalise on the buzz generated by the location. Air-conditioned rooms are luxuriously kitted-out, and many face the glorious Coral Sea.
Winding through the beautifully landscaped tropical gardens is the Living Reef - a man-made lagoon filled with over 100 endemic species, offering a condensed glimpse of the reef's ecosystem. Tennis courts, a gym, catamarans, windsurfing, three swimming pools and an open-air cinema are all included in the tariff. There’s also a club with constant activities to keep children occupied, while the rest of you can hike the 1km Rainforest Trail, or romance your sweetie at the sandy Lovers' Cove.
