Assailed repeatedly by fire and cyclones in its 100-plus years of trading, the Grand View stands unbowed and handsomely renovated at Bowen's heart. Paying homage to its past through black-and-white photographs on the walls (as it does to a more-recent cameo in Baz Luhrmann's Australia), it's nonetheless attuned to modern needs, with a decent kitchen (mains $19-32) and beer garden.
